MROQC Program Manager

Melissa Mietzel has served as the Program Manager for the Michigan Radiation Oncology Quality Consortium (MROQC) since 2016, where she plays a pivotal leadership role in directing the Coordinating Center. In this capacity, Melissa oversees all administrative and operational aspects of the collaborative, ensuring seamless execution of its mission. She serves as the primary liaison for participating facilities, external stakeholders, and others seeking engagement with MROQC.


Melissa provides strategic oversight for the consortium's quality improvement initiatives and analytic activities, working closely with multidisciplinary teams to drive measurable improvements in oncology care. Her leadership ensures that MROQC remains at the forefront of advancing evidence-based practices in radiation oncology.


With over 20 years of experience in clinical trial research and project management, Melissa brings a wealth of expertise to her role. She has been with Michigan Medicine for over a decade, holding various positions focused on oncology clinical trial project management. Melissa earned her Master of Science in Medical Science from Wayne State University in 2001 and her Bachelor of Science in Human Biology, specializing in health sciences research, from Michigan State University in 2000.
